With their new engine shop up and running, Triple Eight has already produced eight new engines and given five a fresh lease of life with half-life rebuilds. But when can we expect further upgrades? A particular area of focus is the crankshaft, where cracking has been reported. Despite a last-minute supplier change for the 2024 Bathurst 1000, the team is determined to get to the bottom of this issue.

"We're putting our engineering might to the test. It's a complex puzzle, but we're committed to finding a solution," Dutton said.

However, there's a twist in the tale. In January, the man leading this engine revolution, Cam Clancy, unexpectedly left the team. With just two full-time staff in the engine shop, former MPT employees Kaz Penwarden and Brent Blakey, the future of this department is a topic of discussion.

"We're confident we can handle the workload as a team. Kaz and Brent have stepped up, and we're bringing in fresh talent soon. We believe in our ability to deliver," Dutton assured.
